# Creating Activity Boards

Follow along to build a custom activity board i.e **activity dashboard**

1. Begin by creating activity lanes in the **administration** panel.

1. Select what state the lane should be (To Do, Work in progress, etc)

3\. You can also choose if the lane should be limited to only certain activity types.

4\. Add an activity board, then begin adding the lanes you just created![](https://mnkagqc0pw-flywheel.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/3-251x300.png)

*\*\*Pro Tip – A global lane is a shared lane used on multiple boards. You can use an alias name for the global lane if you want to customize the title of the lane to fit the theme of the board you are creating but still allow others to see this lane on other activity boards*

1. Once on the **expert console**, the user can toggle between each dashboard they have been given access to. If the user does not have access to the lane it will not appear in the drop-down.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://bolstra-knowledge-center.gitbook.io/bolstra-knowledge-center/administration/creating-activity-boards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
