# Using Lifecycles

At the heart of the Bolstra Customer Success Management platform is the **Customer Lifecycle**. The **Lifecycle** is a tool and graph to not only standardize the work for your different customers but provide clarity as to where they are and if they are behind in their journey.

Each **Customer Lifecycle** consists of  **Lifestages,** much like the stages a frog goes through from larvae to tadpole to mature adult amphibian. Each **Lifestage** consists of **Achievements,** which are definable and measurable.  **Lifestages** are the *higher level steps that your ideal customers transition through over a set period of time (typically a year).* **Achievements** are *discreet accomplishments that you believe are necessary for your customers to successfully progress to the next **Lifestage.***&#x20;
